about the project
I started working on this project long before I realised it was one.
Over the past few months, I found myself drifting away from photography. Instead of taking still images, I kept recording short, 30-second clips of life unfolding — no camera movement, no direction. Just standing still and letting things happen in front of me.
Eventually, I noticed a pattern. Every clip was taken from the same approach — fixed position, no interference. That’s where the name “where I stand” came from. It felt honest. Just me, in one spot, letting the moment happen without a storyboard or a script.
For each city — Hong Kong, Macau, and Stockholm (presented in this order), I edited together a short video using a few seconds from each clip.
At the bottom of the page, there’s also a gallery of still frames taken from many of those same clips, along with a few that didn’t make it into the final edits.

I’m Tiago, a creative based in Malmö, Sweden, with a passion for visual communication, branding, and storytelling.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked on global marketing campaigns at IKEA, collaborating with teams to bring ideas to life.
I’m especially drawn to projects that blend creativity, purpose, and social impact, particularly those that focus on inclusion and sustainability.
This site is a temporary “exhibition,” standing in for my retouching portfolio for now.
